Day 22 (lock down)

Tuesday 14th April - bike **** - Two Rivers – Orwell to the Deben – Long route – Sunny but chilly.

It’s been a couple of days since our last bike ride, we decided to stay in over the Easter weekend, Saturday was lovely with warm sunshine while Monday was over ten degrees cooler with a strong NE wind which was hard on a windsurfer who can’t get out on the water! We had planned to get out early this morning but woke to a grey, cool day so gave it a miss. Then after lunch with the sun coming out, we got the bikes out and headed down to Landguard, I put the big lens on my camera which want easy to ride with! There defiantly seems more cars on the roads today so we went through Langer Park and then down to Felixstowe dock view point. There were not many container ships in as we biked along the Orwell to the beach hoping to see some birds. There were loads of rabbits making the most of these quiet times with not many dog walkers! We had a walk on the beach with no one in sight before heading along the broad walk where we saw a lovely Wheatear and some Linnets. Further along a Magpie, followed by a couple of Partridges, a first for Landguard Reserve! We started of on the prom but Mag thought it was a little busy so went home along the road up the long steep Convalescent Hill! I decided to carry on to Felixstowe Ferry to make it into the Two Rivers ride. As usual stopping en-route to take pics and after a walk around the boat yard I headed out on the Deben path with the aim of taking some shots of the old boats but decided to carry on to Kings Fleet and home via the Grove with it’s lovely blue bells:)
